BIOGRAPHY
Mariam Makharashvili is a visual artist, born in Georgia, in the city of Batumi by the Black Sea
After completing her studies in philosophy, she left her hometown to pursue a new artistic path in France. She is currently based in Marseille, where she studies at the École supérieure d’art d’Aix-en-Provence.
Her work moves between photography, video, installation, and digital media, often exploring themes such as memory, psychological tension, and the invisible boundaries of identity. With a background in philosophy, Mariam brings a reflective and analytical dimension to her visual practice, weaving together intuition and concept.
She is particularly interested in transitional states—emotional, spatial, and bodily—and how they can be made visible through form and atmosphere. Her recent projects involve a blend of AI, Metal, photography, sound... creating fragmented yet immersive narratives that resonate with both personal and collective memory.
